Description

Our Advanced Support for Calming combines KSM-66® Ashwagandha and a unique Lemon Balm extract which are both proven to reduce Cortisol [1] [2] - the hormone associated with stress. These natural ingredients, combined with L-Tryptophan, Chamomile, Valerian and specific B Vitamins help to support our pet’s natural production of Serotonin and GABA which are key receptors in the brain which help our pets regulate mood, stress and anxiety [2]. We’ve also included Pre and Postbiotics to help rebalance your pet’s gut flora, which is often affected by stress causing digestive upset.

The science behind the ingredients

KSM-66® Ashwagandha  - a clinically proven adaptogen that regulates cortisol—the stress hormone. By balancing cortisol [1], it helps reduce anxiety and promotes a calm, stable mood, all without making your pet drowsy. The active compound, withanolides, boosts your pet's resilience to stress, helping them stay calm and balanced no matter what comes their way.

Lemon Balm - our unique extract from Melissa officinalis is rich in bioactive compounds, including rosmarinic acid, which helps support GABA receptors in the brain—key players in calming the nervous system and promoting relaxation in our pets. Clinical studies have shown that this natural extract can reduce stress markers like cortisol and heart rate in as little as one hour [2].

Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata) - this natural herb supports relaxation and alleviates stress in dogs through multiple mechanisms. It increases GABA production, inhibits cortisol (the stress hormone), and interacts with serotonin receptors to help regulate mood, making it an effective, gentle solution for promoting calmness without heavy sedation.

L-Tryptophan - an important amino acid that helps produce serotonin, a key neurotransmitter that regulates mood, stress, and anxiety in our pets. In dogs, L-Tryptophan is converted into 5-HTP (hydroxytryptophan), which is then turned into serotonin in the brain. This process helps keep your pet calm, reduces stress, and promotes a sense of well-being

Chamomile - a natural herb is well-known for its calming properties, thanks to bioactive compounds like Apigenin, which interacts with receptors in the brain to boost the calming effects of GABA (gama-aminobutyric acid). Along with helping to reduce stress, it also has soothing antispasmodic properties that can ease digestive discomfort often caused by stress.

Valerian - a powerful and well-known herb that helps to ease tense muscles caused by stress. Its key compounds, Valerenic acid and Valepotriates, boost GABA activity, calming the nervous system. Valerian is especially powerful for dogs dealing with sudden anxiety, like during thunderstorms, fireworks, or separation anxiety.

Vitamin B Complex - Vitamin B6 supports the production of  important neurotransmitters like serotonin, while Vitamin B3 supports normal brain function to manage stress. Vitamin B1 promotes relaxation, especially for dogs dealing with fear-based reactions. Vitamin B12 reduces the physical effects of stress and fatigue, while also supporting brain function.

Brewers Yeast, Prebiotics & Postbiotics - Combined, these natural, tasty ingredients work together to help  improve your pet's gut microflora, which can be affected by stress. A healthy gut is key to your dog's overall well-being.

Hydrolysed Chicken Liver - makes our powder toppers not only delicious but also safe for your pet. This hypoallergenic ingredient ensures that CliniPaw toppers are loved by your dog!

How soon can I expect to see the results?

Our pets are individuals and the severity of their anxiety can range significantly. The ingredients in CliniPaw are proven to reduce Cortisol levels in as little as 1-4 hours, and so your pet’s coping mechanisms will benefit within this timeframe.

How long do the effects of CliniPaw Advanced Support for Calming last?

Your pet should benefit from CliniPaw Advanced Support for Calming within 1-2 hours. Key material, Lemon Balm, is most effective within the first 2-4 hours, but your pet should still benefit for a 24 hour period. What are the directions for use?

Is it safe to give this product long-term?

Can CliniPaw be given to puppies?

Yes, from the age of around 6-8 weeks once they have been weaned and are interested in solid food.

Do all CliniPaw products contain natural ingredients?

Can CliniPaw products be given together?

Yes, your pet can benefit from all of the CliniPaw products at the same time.

Does it really taste good to all dogs?

Like us, every dog has individual preferences and some of the CliniPaw team’s dogs are the fussiest you’ll come across! We work hard to ensure the CliniPaw range is really tasty for our pets so that it is for yours too!

Can you give this product to pregnant and nursing dogs?

CliniPaw can be beneficial for pregnant or lactating dogs, but please consult your veterinarian before use.

Is it dangerous for my dog to have too much CliniPaw?

We suggest sticking to the recommended dose based on your pet’s weight. If required, CliniPaw Advanced Support for Calming can be given at twice the recommended dose for a period of 4 weeks. If you do give multiple doses at once, there’s nothing in there that should do your dog any harm, but please consult your vet if you have concerns about your pet’s health.

If a pet is on medication, can CliniPaw products be used at the same time?

There are no known concerns relating to taking CliniPaw alongside medication, however please make your vet aware of supplements you give your dog when they’re prescribing medicine so that they are aware.
