Reference 1 - KSM-66® Ashwagandha
Reduction in cortisol (stress hormone) levels
In a randomised, double-blind study, cortisol levels were measured to assess the impact of KSM-66® Ashwagandha on stress. Results showed a 26.9% reduction in cortisol among dogs treated with Ashwagandha, approximately six times greater than those on a placebo. [1]

Anxiety, excitability and aggression improvements
In a randomised controlled trial, KSM-66® Ashwagandha was evaluated using the Canine Behavioural Assessment and Research Questionnaire. The study found significant improvements in anxiety, excitability, and aggression markers [1].
Reference 2 - Lemon Balm
Reduction in stress levels
Our lemon balm extract is clinically proven to lower cortisol levels, thereby reducing the negative effects of stress. As shown in the chart, participants taking lemon balm experienced decreased salivary cortisol levels, while the placebo group showed a significant increase in a 3 hour period [2].
Reference 3 - Ashwagandha
Reduced levels of stress, anxiety and depression
In a randomised, double-blind study, cortisol serum levels and two stress scales—PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) and DASS (Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale)—were used over a 60-day period. The study found significant improvements in all measured stress markers, highlighting reduced stress, anxiety, and depression levels [3].

Pain improvement
In a placebo-controlled study utilising the WOMAC index, participants using Ovopet® experienced a 48% improvement in pain scores over 30 days, with results evident as early as day 3 compared to the placebo group [4].

Hip joint improvement
Sonographic evaluations involving 40 dogs being treated for Osteoarthritis demonstrated a significant improvement in hip joint space vs placebo over the treatment period, emphasising the structural support provided by Ovopet® [5].

Pain improvement
Pet owners were asked to score the pain they thought their arthritic dogs were experiencing over a 40 day period. Interestingly the placebo group score remained consistent throughout, but the treated group recorded a significant reduction of 37.9% by day 40 [5].

Skin improvements
In a placebo controlled clinic-nutritional study it was observed that those using Ovopet® Egg Shell Membrane had a significant improvement in skin elasticity, firmness and the skin epidermis function over a 60 day period, vs the placebo group [6].
Reference 7 - Lemon Balm
Calming mood
Our lemon balm extract contains specific levels of rosmarinic acid, known to enhance GABA activity and promote a calm mood. Research indicates that blood concentrations of rosmarinic acid increase significantly within 30 minutes to two hours after ingestion, highlighting its rapid onset of action [7].

Improved skin hydration
In this study involving rats, transepidermal water loss (TEWL) was assessed in comparison to a placebo group. The findings indicate a significant reduction in TEWL in the groups treated with Ovopet®, suggesting enhanced benefits to the sebum layer and improved skin barrier health [9].

Improvement in faecal scores and smell
In dogs, the Calsporin® used in Advanced Support for Digestion resulted in improved faecal scores, and so an improvement in stool quality, and reduced Ammonia levels which is associated with smell [11].

Improvement in stool quality and reduction in moisture
Over a 5 week period a placebo controlled trial scored the stool consistency of dogs using Calpsorin® which demonstrated benefits from week 1, and overall improvements in stool quality and reduction in faecal moisture [8].

Improvement in stool consistency
A separate study also showed that faecal quality was improved in dogs using Calsporin® vs the placebo group from week 1, and their scores were significantly more consistent over the 4 week trial [10].

Improvement in gut health
A placebo controlled study found that Calpsorin® improved the microbiota biodiversity in dogs, which is important to gut health. Higher diversity results in a more stable microbiota which is less susceptible to gut disorders and inflammatory gut disorders [8].
